Edit: this post is a school-sponsored post.
OK. OK. This is a tech site. Why am I posting this? I’ll tell you why.
As someone who glues himself to the computer often, I feel as if we tend to spend too much time on our devices.
For the regular people that get out and enjoy life, great. Good for you. People like me much prefer to stay inside where it’s safe and go outside when I absolutely have to. (The graphics are just TOO real out there, guys.)
I miss out on certain events. That’s due to time constraints.
Thanks to my partner, I’m able to get out more often and experience life.
And you should too.
You’ll miss out on a lot.
Plus, it gets you out of the house. And it forces you to be…social.
It’s OK to be scared. I am too. Talking to other people is such a drag.
Hear me out. Just look at my gallery. You’ll get to take some kick-awesome photos like mine.
My biggest highlight was seeing one of the last Anberlin concerts before they broke up in 2014. I’ll never forget that.
Pretty cool, right? What I’m saying is, getting out makes us more social and willing to try new things. The updates can wait, guys.
Go spend time with your loved ones. Have fun and enjoy life.

f***ing anti-millenial dichotomy…
its 2017, everyone has a computer in their pocket. this “get outside” business is a recycled older version of the same argument. but the reason its annoying (apart from being glib and incessant) is its reinforced by (and reinforces) the dichotomy that people are computer people or outdoors people– plenty of us already like both.
treating computing as some kind of “bad habit” like smoking belongs in the 80s or 90s, before the internet was the largest library in the history of mankind.
next you should tell us to put down the sci-fi comics and try talking to girls. or just pull up our underwear into our cracks and call us “butthead.”
how long until we go through this anti-computer-user cycle again? it always leans too heavily on stereotypes, false assumptions and oversimplification. but that never stops it from gaining traction in publications– including the ones we would be putting down to “run outside!” 😛

i kind of got that from the “school-sponsored” part. but this really is a tired cliche that people keep getting hit over the head with.
the new twist is that its “millennials” doing it, not every-other-person from every age group (which of course is bs.) sorry if im a little bit raw from it. i certainly dont want to take it all out on you personally. (i genuinely hated the slideshow though.) good luck with your class though 🙂
